If you’ve ever wandered through a medieval castle, you know that people were shorter in "the olden days." The beds were tiny and the clothing was petite. Few kids over twelve today could fit into a suit of armor.
And we haven’t stopped evolving. Each generation seems to grow taller. Children are often taller than their parents. Part of that growth is genetic and part is due to increased nutrition and other health factors that we enjoy today.
Still – most modern products are manufactured for people of average height and that leaves people at either end of the height spectrum – with fewer choices.
Why is that ? if you want anything adapted to a tall person you need to shop in specialty stores. But almost everyone is taller now. Average height for a man is now 6 feet, average for woman is 5’9. Why aren’t the manufacturers adapting to this. Dont they realise their sales are dropping?
I think that if this was actually the case, the manufactures would be all over it. All of these huge companies have researchers just for that purpose. We all know that the manufactures are all about the mighty dollar, so if that was the strongest demographic then they would market that way HARD. You must not have your facts right, sorry.

http://www.heartmonitron.com/hm_meddigest_journals_on_nutrition-_heart_and_diabetes-_cholesterol_and_healthy_weight_033.htm How to make healthy spaghetti, pasta and other mediterranean recipes. Three versions are explained. One for weight loss diets and weight maintenance, one for heart care and one for diabetes patient care. Recipe software, such as Cook’n, is used to find nutrition facts and plan best dishes, best menus and meals. Emphasis is put on healthy properties of the recipes. Vegetarian meatless and non-vegetarian meaty versions. The nutritional and health guidelines that we use to make the hM Journals recipes are a compilation, a sort of average of the recommendations of major health institutions. We are strongly inspired by the American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, The Mayo and the Cleveland Clinic, The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) or the NIH ( National Institutes of Health ), by the recommendations of The American Medical Association (Guide to Preventing and Treating Heart Disease, publishers: Wiley & Sons Inc.). For the control of cholesterol, we adhere to the nutrition guidelines of The Harvard Medical School Guide to Lowering Cholesterol (publishers: McGraw-Hill). For healthy weight loss and maintenance, we use the USDAs Food Pyramid as a safety reference to come up with balanced and low-calorie recipes. The hM Journals readers and patients are encouraged to speak with their Doctor, Registered Dietitian or nutritionist regarding their meal or menu planning, some degree of professional supervision is always best. Mediterranean Spaghetti and pasta recipes can be more than just enjoyable, yummy and delicious. They can also be very healthy. When prepared in a healthy way, Mediterranean diet recipes are not only good for you, they are the very best recipes in the world for the purpose of health improvement, prevention or even the reversal of disease and also for caring for chronic diseases consequent to our Western World very bad eating habits. We advocate meals that are free of trans-fats, low in total fat and very low in saturated fats, meals that use lean protein sources, use unrefined and complex cereals or carbohydrate sources, including beans and other legumes, that include lots of fiber-rich and phytonutrient or antioxydant-rich fresh vegetables and fruits and meals that favor a low glycemic index or glycemic load.

I’ve tried exersicing until I pass out, running on 800 calories a day, alli pills, fasting, and all of the above combined. No fat loss! i actually gained a few
. I’ve tried clearasil, acnefree, clean & clear, cetaphil (worked okay
), neutrogena, and MINOCYCLINE! I still have acne. I’m not fat, and I don’t have extreme severe ance. But I don’t have a flat tummy, or a clear face. Well yes, I have to exercise no matter what to lose weight, and I will always have to wash my face…. but it would be a lot easier to deal with both of these problems at once, right? Both of these problems are linked to nutrition and hormones. Over this past year, I’ve collected a bunch of information and tips. Acai berry vitamins, fish oils, multivitamins for teens, and WATER, oh and being cold! Weird huh? Well I think it’s worth a shot right? This will take a week… and being inpatient hasn’t worked for me for two years! So here’s my plan!
Rules:
1. Drink a minimum of 60 oz. of water per day!
2. Exersice at least 45 mins a night (just walking around the mall counts!) to speed up your metabolism. Everyday of the week, we’re kids, that’s what we should do anyway!
3. Fast-Food = Fast calories, and zits… look up how many calories & and fat are in a big mac, you’ll see what I mean! So choose something on the menu that isn’t greasy or fried.
4. No soda, sorry… but It’s horrible for you. drink 100% juice instead if you’re craving a sweet drink, that way you settle your craving, and get a full serving of fruit! Besides, pop was proven to actually make you thirstier!
5. Use the food pyramid to plan your meals, it’s the only thing that works really!
6. Junk food is Okay!(not really a rule but..)… IN MODERATION. 200 calories of cheetos a day is fine!
7. Don’t take pills for acne or weight loss, because weight loss pills can make you breakout, and acne pills can cause weight gain, and both can cause depression!
8. Natural is always best. Choose carrots over chips, and choose a honey/ oatmeal mask over benzoyl peroxide (GAVE ME TEMPERARY WRINKLES).
9. Be happy. If you’re feeling sorry for yourself and being sad sitting on the couch hating life, why don’t you get up and dance? It send endorphines to your brain(makes you feel great!), and burns calories! WOW!
10. Don’t do it in vane, do it for health!
IMPORTANT MUSTS:
1. Fish oils, omega 3,6,9!
2. Multi vitamin, (teen ones).
3. Wash face with mild soap twice daily (such as cetaphil).
4. Moisturize! Believe it or not moisturizing actually helps get rid of acne! (oil-free moisturized, again I suggest ctaphil products!)
5. Never eats UNDER 1500 calories a day…. starving actually leads to weight gain, weird right?
6. Get a buddy, someone to talk to about exersices and acne progress, and just for motivation!
7. Never skip out on fruits and veggies and whole grains! =]
8. Fiber tablets are great, there flavored and chewable, and help your body with digestion and much more!
GOOD LUCK!!! =]
OOPS I didn’t realize I put it in pregnancy and parenting…. I’m fourteen not a parent. =]
This isn’t really a question, I just could never find anything on YA, so I decided to put everything I’ve learned together for all my fellow teens.
Any questions, or concerns email me!

try proactive, it works great

Nutrition supplements are not only necessary but are indispensable even for those persons eating balanced diets. There are several advantages that bodybuilding nutrition supplements are able to provide humans that normal food is not able to give.
Let us take a brief look at the benefits of nutrition supplements, as the first step in nutrition guide.
- Healthy nutrition increases energy both in body and in mind
- It provides relaxation to the mind and the various body parts
- Bodybuilding supplements help in beating stress and fatigue
- Nutrition supplements sharpens the mind and improves memory power
- Healthy nutrition is a great facilitator of detoxification and in overcoming addiction
- Nutrition supplements assist you in achieving internal calmness and a connected feeling
- All the above processes help in elevating the overall mood, resulting in higher work efficiency
Healthy nutrition is a natural process that gives you the same or even higher energy boost and mood relaxation from tea, coffee, tobacco, liquors, drugs, etc., without their harmful side effects
Body-mind complex should not be violated
The major difference between these bodybuilding nutrition supplements and the above listed harmful materials is that the natural nutrition supplements work with the innate design of your body and not against it. All addictive materials definitely work against the body-mind system, though they might appear to be working with them.
They do provide stimulation and relaxation. That could not be denied. However, the harmful side effects from drinks, drugs, and tobacco far exceed the momentary benefits derived from them. They become an addiction. They leave you exhausted and run down in the long run, because they work against the natural body system. Constant exposure to such violation of the body and mind leads to the dislocation of internal harmony. Disastrous results ensue.
Right nutrition guide to healthy life
Nutrition supplements are the exact opposite of the above listed harmful items in functioning. They not only work the body-mind system but enhance the natural abilities inherent in our complex physical structure. There is nothing miraculous about healthy nutrition and bodybuilding nutrition supplements. By nature, they are designed to supplement and compliment the various body functions and mental activities.
They are similar in nearly all the aspects to the various chemicals and fluids that we have in our body and brain. Vitamins, minerals, and amino acids present in our body control the function of the various body parts and the activities of the brain. The nutrition supplements just enhance the energy present in the body to higher levels, increase the focusing power of the mind, and usher in overall well being.

I took my 3 yr old to get her vaccines, a month later I get a letter to call the health department that a physician reported me because of feeding concerns regarding my daughter, I called them and all, they closed the case but for 3 yrs old she is not fat at all, we call her "Shrimpy" because she is so small and thin, I have 2 other children whom are older and never had problems like this, people were surprised to hear this, I mean people how she is so petite. I feel discriminated, the doctors in this place called the pediatric medical group where I love are so rude to children, I dont think they like them at all, the doctor said to a friend of mine "get your kids fingers off the walls, they might get them dirty" do you know of anything I could do to complain? It makes me never want to take her back there again, I am upset I have even taken 2 child nutrition classes I wish they could look in my fridge and see how healthy my kids eat, do you think it is fair to be treated like this?
The whole story did not fit, and to make it brief, I made a complaint once about my older daughter because she had severe constipation which was not taken seriously, so I complained because I felt it could have turned into something serious if not regulated even after changing her to a high fiber diet and all, I felt testing needed to be dont because I was concerned anout other health pro\blems causing this so I switched her doctors, they checked her kidneys, liver, and and it was all fine, they prescribed her miralax and she is now fine, but ever since the complaint I have been discriminated there, I dont think thats right, thats the reason for me being so upset.
Oh and I am in California, sorry for the typing errors above, im not used using a keyboard on a laptop, I keep moving my hand over the mouse, sorry.
What state are you in? I’d be calling some boards and councils. Thats nuts.

health
I feel if they had programs in schools where the kids grew organic gardens and prepared their own food, this would help teach nutrition from any early age or I have also seen pilot programs where they schools contract with local farmers for organic meats and program and grains and it is about the same as the garbage they usually serve and they let the kids cook/prepare it and they start loving things like kale and beets and stuff you would not think they would like. How can more of these programs be started.
also what tips can you offer for parents trying to teach their kids to eat right.
oops error above program should be produce..I typed that wrong.
well dumpling they have had great results here in program..they find the kids transform the whole family to better eating, that they eat all their healthy foods unlike schools I witnessed where all the fruits was throw away etc..I was shocked at the waste of food, they find the farmers benefit and the environment and I have seen kids I taught nutrition to, love things like dulse (sea veggies) to the surprise of other teachers.
Here are some articles on the success of such programs

http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=ytff1-&p=pilot+programs+organic+food+in+schools
also I saw some ideas for how to get such programs in your child’s school in some of these articles. I imagine in the UK program, many of the teachers were not committed to and enthusiastic about it and this helped it to fail;
who is saying people must be forced to eat well or eat only plants or organic. I noted in a previous question you answered that I was glad everyone did not all do good foods and drugs because we don;t have enough…at this point we can decide which we want to do and I am glad I am doing it my way and you yours. I only care about those who want help or better health –not those content with their junk foods and drugs. But kids deserve our best I feel and a chance in the face of all the junk food out there and advertising.
Also we can support a lot more people on a acre of plant food than on using the land for animals and their massive use of plant foods. Eliminating the middle and eating the grains directly instead of via the cow or pig is more sustainable,
I do not eat only vegetarian or organic myself but I try to use organic when I can afford it and take in lots of whole grains and produce and legumes etc.
If all the world’s land were to be used to grow organic food and if the whole world was vegetarian then the world could support about 4 billion people. Can you find 2 billion people willing to die for everyone else to get organic food and get everyone that doesn’t die to agree to a strict policy of two children per woman?
