I simply want advice on how to keep my confidence high, while going through this.
My parents are HEALTH nuts.
My brother and my sister both have a personal trainer.
I am pretty much the devils kid in their eyes,
I enjoy McDonalds and other fast foods, I DO play hockey & volleyball, but it never seems to be enough physical activity.
She claims she’s just worried,
but the comments my mom comes up with and teering my confidence apart.
Aww man that sucks, because you seem normal, unlike most of the young girls on here freaking out over 3 pounds.. eating 200calories a day and what not.
You need to -try- to talk to your parents about how their "views" are affecting your self esteem. For some reason middle class view successful people as fit and lean, so their probably equating your success to how diciplined you are nutrition and fitness wise.
This is not your fault, it’s not even theirs. It’s a societal problem, and don’t recent them for that, even though it’s hard. The best advice someone ever gave me was hate the actions, not the people.
All parents (usually) want the best for their children, and that’s why they act the way they do, even if they do it in the wrong way.
If your parents don’t listen to what you have to say, try talking to someone you can trust like a doctor or a school counciler and they will help!
Stay strong mama, and remember it’s ok to eat junk sometimes, as long as you’re active and happy that’s all that matters.
I can kind of see why the fast food bothers them – while there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself the question is how often are you doing it that is worrying them?
While I don’t think your mom should be making those comments, a parent not wanting a child to eat fast food is very refreshing to see in this society.
