As Megan has already said just replace the food in the guide with a similar piece of similar QUALITY.

Megan is WRONG is saying avoid fat! Women need SOME for their menstrual cycles, just as Men need it for production of Testosterone.

Drink 2 litres of water minimum! Sipping it throughout the day! Don't chug it in one go! You need water throughout your body all day to digest the food and other bodily functions.

If your on your maintenance calories over 5 meals a day, with complex carb both starchy and fibrous, with complete lean protein and some dietary fat (recommend udos) and your drinking atleast 2 litres of water a day, then yes you can lose FAT JUST eating 5 balanced meals through the day.

You are likely to gain SOME water and muscle weight though, which is GOOD, it's water weight in your muscles, not under your skin! You won't look like Arnold S nowhere near[read: NOWHERE NEAR[

FAR TOO MANY people focus on "weight" hell I could lose 10 lbs in 2 days if I felt like it, it would mostly be muscle and water though. So please don't get freaked about about me saying you'll gain weight, it's unlikely to be fat!

So to sum it up, yes just replace the food they recommend with similar quality and the same food group to things you like.

One more thing, DON'T jump straight into 5 meals as your body won't be used to it and be WTF and you'll just store it as fat. go from 3-4-5 decreasing and balancing the calories in each meal.

Going from 3-4 and 4-5 meals over a period of a month would be ideal.

Goodluck.
References :
Bodybuilder and studying to become a personal trainer.

I don't see why not. As long as you are eating healthy foods and moderating your calorie intake, it should not be a problem.

Personally, I make sure to have plenty of lean protein, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits (moderating calorie intake according to the formula) in addition to doing the workouts. I have seen good results so far, and I haven't used any of their recipes yet.
References :
Also doing the insanity program (on week 3).

By eating 5 smaller meals a day (as opposed to 3 meals) you keep your metabolism running at its fastest (or near fastest) for the majority of the day, so you will lose weight by consuming the same amount of calories. Based on how much you weigh, you may only lose 5-10lbs by doing this, it won't be a steady decrease in weight. Naturally, if you do the 5 meals as well as adjust you diet you will get better result.
References :
Choose healthy foods you like and replace unhealthy ones you eat in a day with them. Drink lots of water. Stay away from fat and sugar. Dont eat after 7pm. Eat 5 small meals in day, including snacks, not 3 big ones. Eat grilled and boiled foods, not fried and fastfoods. Here is a sample diet plan;
Breakfast: Slices of tomatoes, a piece of cheese, 4 5 olives, 2 egg whites and green tea
Snack: nuts or fruits
Lunch: Salad
Snack again
Dinner: Grilled chicken, turkey or fish and boiled vegetables or salad

Good luck:)
